Sunday Mornings at CrossWay
Sunday Mornings at CrossWay
Welcome! Sunday services begin at 8:30 and 10:30 A.M. You can get a map and directions here.CrossWay is an Evangelical church, which means we believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is presented in the Bible. We believe it is only through Christ that we can have a right relationship with God. That right relationship is experienced and expressed at CrossWay on Sunday Mornings in three ways: Teaching, Worship and Community.
Teaching
The centerpiece of CrossWay Community Church is solid teaching from the Bible, the infallible Word of God. We believe the Bible is the primary means by which God has revealed Himself to us, and therefore it is the only authoritative source of truth for our lives and church.“All Scripture is God-breathed
and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of
God may be thoroughly equipped
for every good work.”
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
At CrossWay, we seek to apply God’s Word to every aspect of church life. We treasure the Bible as God’s inspired Word and gladly submit to its authority. We not only believe that the Bible is the completely true and trustworthy Word of God, we also believe God gave it to us for the express purpose of shaping our thinking and our behavior.
We dearly love the gospel, the good news that Christ died for our sins making it possible for us to be at peace with God and assured of eternity with him. This undeserved grace continually astounds us and impresses upon us the magnitude of God’s love for us. We believe that the people of CrossWay must have a clear understanding and a deep personal appreciation of the Gospel in order for them to live in the goodness of this amazing grace day to day.
Worship
The purest expression of the reality of our relationship with God is our passionate worship of Him. We believe we are drawn into an experience of worship by seeing God as He has revealed Himself in the Bible, and by gratefully responding to what He has done in our lives. “Come, let us sing for joy
to the Lord; let us shout aloud
to the Rock of our salvation.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for He is our God and we are the people
of His pasture, the flock under His care.”
(Psalm 95: 1, 6-7)
At CrossWay we make every effort to ensure that our worship services are focused on God, and on the cross of Christ. We believe that it is only through the finished work of Christ on the cross that we may enter into the presence of God worship Him.
The songs we sing are chosen to express our love to God and His love for us as it is revealed in the cross. We draw from a variety of traditions and select songs that are God-centered, theologically sound and musically enjoyable.
At CrossWay we acknowledge that we can do nothing to make people worship; we can only remind them of our reason to worship, and then provide them the opportunity to do so.
Community
At CrossWay Community Church, we work to create as many opportunities as possible for people to develop and enjoy relationships with one another. “A new command I give you:
Love one another
as I have loved you,
so you must love one another.
By this all men will know
that you are my disciples,
if you love one another.”
(John 13:34-35)
At CrossWay, our community includes people of all ages. We have an active children’s program in which kids from preschool through elementary school age receive Bible teaching in a way that is relevant and understandable to them. And we have regular meetings for our youth and their parents.
A key element of the CrossWay community for adults is our CareGroup Ministry. At CrossWay we are committed to serving and caring for one another. We realize that this is not always easy, but in obedience to God we’re determined to work at developing honest and deepening relationships as we follow Christ together. The highest quality of Biblical fellowship can be enjoyed only in the context of these committed relationships, and these groups allow people to get to know one another better, learn to apply the Bible personally and pray together. CareGroups meet at various times and locations, and we will work to make sure that there is one available for you.
We are deeply committed to the local church as the principal place where God is working out his purpose in the world and in people’s lives. We believe that active participation in a local church is not just useful but essential for the spiritual growth of individual Christians. We have been joined together by the Spirit into one body, and understand our participation in the church primarily as purposeful involvement in each other’s lives.
